"Unable to retrieve content" error

Hello. The Firefox extension reports an error when I try to push the following page to my Kindle. Disabling the “Use browser-retrieved content” options does not help.

@fivefilters: maybe you can have a look into this? I am not sure, where to start here.

This is a very large page. My FTR throws an error “Maximum execution time of 120 seconds exceeded” and I think, P2K also gives-up after this 2 minutes. ftr.fivefilters.net stops after a minute with

The browser is loading the original content in less than 2 seconds.

No problems when fetching with wallabag, but it takes 10 seconds to display the article after opening the archived version from my server.

Sorry for the slow response!

I think the issue here is that the content contain a lot of html elements relative to the actual content. When Full-Text RSS tries to detect the content, it does multiple passes, so can sometimes get bogged down with markup like this. We’ve found writing a custom site config where you specify where the content is reduces this because the multi-pass auto-detection doesn’t kick in.

We’re planning to switch to a new, faster parser where this shouldn’t be a problem in the future.
