I have been using Push to Kindle with Firefox reader mode for a long time. However, I recently noticed that it no longer loads within the reader mode (works okay outside of it). I wanted to understand:
If others experienced the same problem
If this was a known issue
Is a fix on the way or will push to kindle no longer support firefox reader mode
I can confirm this problem for Firefox 140.0.2 on Windows 11. But I think, that might be a change of Firefox, maybe they don’t allow to access HTML in reader mode or changed the way, an app has to access this. Have you tried the bookmarklet instead?
I also can’t use the wallabagger plugin, which is also accessing the HTML source in standard view but now fails in reader mode.
@fivefilters, maybe you have some ideas about that?
Same thing here. I suspect it’s an update in Firefox as we haven’t changed anything in the extension. We’ll look into it to see if we can find anything.
For now, please try using Push to Kindle on the original page and not the reader view, and let us know if there are any issues.
Thanks a lot @fivefilters and @HolgerAusB. Really appreciate it.
Will keep using it outside the reader mode for now. Using it within the readermode is very useful. It removes a lot of extra non-relevant text from the article and can also help with some paywalls.
