Bookmarklet and App not working - again - on any site

Apologies for reposting. I thought the issue was resolved - it’s not. ‘This site can’t be reached’ error. Phone and tablet. I’ve changed nothing. Android.

Hi @Atheling, as I do not use the bookmarklet, I don’t know much about this. At the moment the Plugin for desktop browser is working well, I tried several news sites in US and EU.

It might be helpful, if you could post:

  • the exact date, time and timezone, when you experience the problem
  • the URLs of the articles you wanted to fetch (one per domain)
  • which network? Private/Public WLAN or Cellular
  • Are you using VPN? If yes, turn off to test. If no, you might be able to test with VPN.
  • Try some simple Websites without paywalls or login sites, just to make sure, it is P2K which doesn’t work. Post also these URLs.
  • Are you using some special add blocking software or DNS/PiHole rules? FiveFilters don’t uses such Trackers, but the server seems to be secured with cloudflare techniques.
  • Maybe a screenshot?

So, if this is not domain dependent problem, the timestamps may help @fivefilters to find the reason in server logs.

It sounds to us like your device is experiencing trouble communicating with the Push to Kindle servers. We can’t see any particular issues at the moment. Please try some of the suggestions Holger posted (turning off VPN or blockers temporarily if you’re using one). If that doesn’t work, please provide some more information. A screenshot of the error message you’re seeing would be useful.

Yes I’ve been testing some of the helpful suggestions from Holger. I think it was down to a content filter CleanBrowsing. The Family Filter must have been changed suddenly in some way blocking fivefingers. The Adult DNS address doesn’t seem to block things and it’s been working since I changed it. I left it a few days to be sure. PtoK app and bookmarklet are working. Thanks.
