Using Push to Kindle, lately I can’t get any articles on Aeon.co to work. Image is pulled, and small bits of irrelevant website text, but not the actual article.
Some examples:
I’ve successfully used Push to Kindle for many Aeon.co articles in the past; this is a new problem.
@rolloroyce: aeon.co had changed their html layout.I now have re-written the config for this domain. If you are using a desktop browser or the bookmarklet you may want to click ‘edit’ in the preview and disable ‘Use browser-retrieved content’, because I could not manage to strip the newsletter block, which is originally inserted by JavaScript. Please try again.
@fivefilters maybe you can have a look into this, for stripping the newsletter-advert when using the browser plugin. While there is a div with class NLFormInsertFromCMS on the original site, the P2K excerpt only have <p> nodes without class attribute.
EDIT:
The newsletter advert is gone now. Don’t know if that was you, FiveFilters, or if I did not wait long enough after my last config upload.
I have another question: I have a Push to Kindle paid account. Is there any way to retrieve an archive of all articles I’ve sent via the tool? Either the documents themselves, or the URLs?
For privacy reasons we have never stored that information. We do have plans for user accounts in the future where users can choose to have those stored and exported if needed.
